I had this idea...

It wouldn't necessarily be a "played" event, but it would act as one. A time-skip event, in which the characters and Kannagara skips a week, but OOCly, the players take that week (that is being skipped) to finish backlogs and random video/audio/text/etc. posts. During the time, nothing new would come up and after that week, the characters would wake up and they would think it would be the very next day. (Except the grass has grown, dust has collected, etc.) So ... maybe a mass sleep-spell?

Maybe it's a little selfish of me to ask for an event like that, but it would be nice to give the players a chance to catch up on all the backlogging that's occurred. :3 Just an idea.

For fun, I think it would be neat to include a description of the weather and celestial bodies every day change. Since this is the realm of the gods, after all, things like a regular lunar cycle don't necessarily have to follow normal physical laws, but perhaps could change with the moods and temperament of the gods! For example, the phases of the moon could change based on how Tsukuyomi is feeling today, or thunderclouds could roll in if Susano'o decides to have a temper tantrum. Empathic landscapes in the various villages might also be cool - if, for example, Hisato's been full of happy people lately, the crops will grow faster/more fruitfully, whereas if people feel sad or depressed, not so much. Or flowers might grow better near homes of happy people. :D?

UNRELATEDLY, I also had a separate suggestion for dealing with player hiatuses. If a player likes, in order to avoid backlog, perhaps when a player goes on an extended hiatus, their character can "time-skip" - in other words, disappear from Kannagara until the player returns, and then wake up in hir house thinking it was the next day after they had last been in Kannagara. Just an option!

I had an idea , an event where - characters act out a song. For example. If it's Rihanna's Take A Bow, you get Person A kicking Person B out for cheating and shit. It's only for one day, of course, a crack event with random pairings to have additional chances for CR.

We've got a few secretive, secretive characters who are also, let's say. Antisocial. Off the top of my head, there's L, Jokaa-san and B. I thought it might be fun if the "gods" tossed the residents into havoc in the form Divine Truth & Silly Serum™. Idk, it could be fun. :3

ZOMBIES YEAH!
Due to the success of Nightmare Event (well, even moreso if it wasn't placed in the middle of mid-terms), I suggest of having a similar event, but this time with zombies! I stumble across the wikia of Left 4 Dead and found out they have a variety of zombies.

http://left4dead.wikia.com/wiki/The_Infected

So we don't not just have regular zombies, but mutated ones with specialized abilities.

Because they are LOL ZOMBIES and may or may not be much easier to kill than the other monsters last time, I would recommend of extremely lowering the powers of the most powerful of individuals while those with not as offensive powers will find them to be also extremely limited or removed entirely. For example, we take away Marco's ability to morph T-Rex, rhino, osprey, or any other morph that could help him easily escape or easily take over the zombies.

Of course, there is always the option of making everyone powerless and force them to take on zombies the odd fashion way. XDDD

Scroll suggestion
name: Depowering scroll

effect: Depowers any character down to the point of being a normal human. All powers are considered 'shut off' and unable to access until the effect wears off. If they are not human, then they turn into a human for the duration of the scroll.

Duration: 1 real-life week minimum to 1 real-life month maximum.

helloooo
This is an extremely minor and nitpicky thing, but since the game has been growing some and is getting a little faster (well, I guess it always has spurts of speed, but, you know, Fourth Wall, etc.), I was wondering if maybe you guys might consider expanding the page from 10 entries per page to 20 or so. I've noticed a lot of somewhat larger RPs have more entries per page, and lately I'm finding my posts kinda... buried more quickly/ending up on the second page quite fast, which isn't the end of the world or anything, but if I'm backtagging and go 30 entries back and 30 entries is three pages, I think there's a certain mental level where the number of pages makes everything feel older (and thus more like "should I even try to reply to this now?") than it is in actuality. I've been having this feeling on and off with backtagging.

Of course, as I said, it's all very minor and I won't be terribly bothered if it doesn't happen. I am just throwing this out for consideration.

Hi guys!

So. I was wondering, If our characters were to get an AM/FM radio from the summoning shop...would it pick up any radio stations, or just static? Obviously the radio would have to run on batteries or an alternate power source.

The idea was for Niko and Cal to pick up a radio, but find it only picks up on fuzzy AM station that plays oldies rock. Just to annoy Cal.
kannagara_gods[personal profile] kannagara_gods on November 19th, 2011 06:48 pm (UTC)
It would not pick up any radio stations, as there is no good explanation as to where it would come from. However, Katheryn, the player of Elfangor, had Elfangor play oldies over the Hitomi by using his thought-speech, so perhaps you two could contact her and see if you could work anything out for annoying Cal?

Ah, it must also be a battery-powered radio with summoned batteries, for the thought-speech manipulating, or it would have no power-source to run on.

Hey mod squad, I contacted Sayo with this question but it's a bit of a complex one that I will try to explain as best I can using the simplest science the canon goes into. Anyway I am looking into apping an alien form the Mass Effect universe and am wondering how much of his technology would function in Kannagara. I understand that electricity as such does not work in the world but within the future of space electricity as we know it functions a little differently.

Mainly the piece of equipment I'm inquiring about is something called an omni-tool. It's much like a minerature computer of sorts with a hologram interface that is used by people usually as first responders and the military in remote locations and planets. The tools run off of magnetic fields based on the planets core or centre of density for gas giants. The main reason I'm concerned about such technology is not for him trying to get in communication (I assumed that half would be cut completely) but because of the type of life form he is. Humans are levo-amino based life forms whereas he is a dextro-amino based life form, meaning that human food in some cases causes allergic reaction or at worst death because it's toxic in the chemical breakdowns that happen as the body breaks it down. As such the character would have a list of levo-amino based foods that would be safe for ingestion, ones that are outright toxic and some that he could build an immunity to.

Other such gear as his scope I would image would only function with limited ability because it runs from the omni-tool. But as Kannagara isn't technically a planet I'm not sure how the devices would act. Outside of being a small database that used for information, hacking, and data repairs the tools are virtually useless as weapons of any kind.

I know I've dumped a bit of a headache on you all but it'd clear up a few things for me! thanks!

For characters with technology analogous to the Hitomi (e.g. cell phones, golems from the DGM universe, etc.), that item is usually turned by the gods into a Hitomi. So for your character, this omni-tool would remain looking the same (as the Hitomi can change form to what your character finds most useful to use), but any functions outside of the Hitomi's map/GPS system and the network would be disabled.

As for the life support function, high-level technology does not exist in Kannagara, however! The gods are fair and will equip your character's omni-tool/Hitomi with an equivalent system that works exactly the same, but runs on the magic which empowers the Hitomi. As a side note, the Hitomi are not hackable by any means with any level of technology.

We hope this clarifies some things!

Just a heads up, but you should update the links on the profile, since they either lead to the livejournal pages or the wrong ones. o/
